Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted a hat-trick and awakened LA Galaxy’s club record for goals in a year in their victory over Sporting Kansas City on Sunday.
Even the 37-year-old scored his 24th, 25th and 26th goals of the campaign snap a four-match winless run.
Ibrahimovic scored his first goal before surpassing the past goalscoring record of Carlos Ruiz with just two left-footed strikes, following his penalty was rescued.
A double from Sebastian Lletget, Uriel Antuna plus joe Corona assisted Galaxy to their convincing victory.
Ibrahimovic has now scored 48 goals in 51 games at the MLS.
“I believe I am the very best ever to play in MLS. And that is without joking,” Ibrahimovic explained.
“Scoring goals is easy, you just have to be like Zlatan and it is forthcoming,” said the former Manchester United striker, who’s just two goals behind leading scorer Carlos Vela.
“I strive to help the team in the very best way and that is by accomplishing goals. I scored and I must continue, that’s to score goals and I have to help my staff and make it simpler.
“it is a terrific outcome, it turned into a fantastic game.
“The result says something else however, the first half was quite even, we played against a good team that plays great football. In the second we had been more powerful and once we obtained the opportunities we were scoring so that was the distinction.
