Ruiz Jr vs Joshua II: Anthony Joshua says ‘stopping isn’t in my DNA’ as he faces off with Andy Ruiz Jr in New York

Anthony Joshua cautioned”I have a second chance” because he went face to face with Andy Ruiz Jr in a press conference in New York.
The heavyweight rivals matched again from the city where Ruiz Jr shocked Joshua earlier this year, ahead of the rematch on December 7 in Saudi Arabia, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
IBF, WBA and WBO title-holder Ruiz Jr, wearing a sombrero, just broke from an extreme face-off when he heard calls of”let us go champ” from the onlooking Shannon Briggs, the former heavyweight champion from New York.
Joshua earlier said:”In my brief 11-year profession, in the amateurs to the pros, I’ve seen a good deal. I wouldn’t say I have seen all of it, but I have definitely seen a good deal.
“There were times once I confronted beat as an amateur. My fight. Envision I stopped there would be today. I lost in the European Championship quarter-finals. Envision I ceased then, there would be no now.
“I lost in the World Championship finals. Imagine I ceased then, there would be. Stopping is not within my DNA. I will continue fighting for the enthusiasm of boxing and so as a ambassador for championship-level fighting. That is where I belong.
“I was born with a battling spirit. I understand how to fight.
“People say,’you lost your names’. I say,’to get rid of something is to never get it back’.
“I have another opportunity on December 7. I used ton’t have a warm-up fight, I’m not gun-shy.
“Shannon Briggs talks about the times he had been down and out, and nobody believed .
“That is where’let us go champ’ comes in my life right now.”
Joshua then called on Briggs to shout his catchphrase and then he responded with a loud:”Let us go champ!”
Ruiz Jr said about New York:”This is really where I became the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the world.
“But I know Joshua needs his belts back. I know how it feels to drop I lost to Joseph Parker when I believed I’d won. Joshua can bounce straight back . My occupation is not to allow him get the belts back.
“I have had doubters my entire life, telling me I would do nothing because of my look. Because of how I looked.
“Individuals are now able to say,’if he did it, I could get it done’.”
Promoter Eddie Hearn included:”That is a beautiful, savage sport and each fighter deserves respect but these two are excellent role models and great ambassadors. This might be the heavyweight occasion of our creation.”
Joshua and Ruiz Jr fulfilled in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to the first leg of a social media excursion. They reconvene on Friday at London.
