Agneepath (Hindi: अग्निपथ; English: Path of Fire) is a 2012 Indian Hindi action thriller film produced by Karan Johar. It is a remake of a 1990 film of the same name and is directed by Johar’s former assistant Karan Malhotra. While Hrithik Roshan plays the lead role of Vijay Deenanath Chauhan, Sanjay Dutt plays the role of the main antagonist Kancha Cheena, originally played by Amitabh Bachchan and Danny Denzongpa respectively.^[2] The film stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead. Other members of the cast include Rishi Kapoor playing a newly introduced negative character, Om Puri and Zarina Wahab among others.^[3][4][5] The award winning character of Krishnan Iyer M.A played by Mithun Chakraborty in the original has been totally done away with. Shooting of the film mostly took place in Diu and Mumbai‘s film city. Agneepath released on 26 January 2012 to positive reviews from critics.

Plot

The story opens in an island Maharashtrian village of Mandwa. The school teacher of the village,Dinanath Chauhan (Chetan Pandit),who is highly respected by the villagers tries to dissuade them from giving away their lands on lease to Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt),the son of the village head who plans to start a drug mafia.He then proceeds to put a false blame of raping a student on Master Dinanath Chavan and executes him in full public view by hanging him to banyan tree.This forces the 12 years old Vijay and his mom to flee the town and they reach Mumbai where his mom gives birth to a baby girl. In Mumbai the young Vijay sees Kancha and as events pan out becomes an accomplice of Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor) as Rauf has clash with Kancha. Vijay tries to seek help and power of Lala to be powerful and get hands on Kancha to take revenge one day.

After 15 years, Lala becomes sole Drug Lord of the city and keeps on running the business of selling young girls. Police officer Gaitonde (Om Puri) manages to debar Kancha from interfering in Mumbai but can not get proofs against Lala or Vijay.

Lala’s son Mazhar Lala (Rajesh Tandon)is a freak who very much conflicts his business and personal agendas. Mazhar hates Vijay for being a stronghold on Lala’s business. He expresses his disgusts towards Vijay to Lala. But Lala consoles him saying, let Vijay handle their business and Mazhar be an observer ,and when time permits, they should finish Vijay.

Vijay plays double cross by holding home secretary Borkar(Sachin Khedekar) to ransom, who is Kancha China’s aid; and threatens Shantaram another aid of Kancha to be a middleman between Vijay and Kancha to have trades of cocaine to Mumbai from Mandwa. He sets up a plan to win trust of Lala and Mazhar when he takes a shot on himself and portrays as a savior of Mazhar.

On the night of his marriage,Lala’s son Mazhar Lala gets the information that the shot was fired by Kancha’s man and along with Vijay leaves to end him in the process of which is shot dead by Shantaram right in front of Vijay who is unmoved and already knows the plot. Vijay later shoots Shantaram as he no longer needs him as he had already sent a message to Kancha and also for not leaving the evidence of their conspired plan. Lala on seeing his son dead, falls sick and is admitted into a hospital unconscious.In the meantime,Vijay takes the place of Lala. He is then contacted by Kancha. He accepts Kancha’s offer and goes to Mandwa for a business deal. While in Mandwa,Vijay puts his deal in front of Kancha which is handing over the drug business in Mumbai over to Kancha and in return taking Mandwa. Though Kancha initially suspects this deal, he later agrees on the condition that the commissioner Gaitonde must be killed.

Meanwhile back in Mumbai,Lala regains health and knows the truth behind his son’s death.He gets hold of Vijay’s sister Shiksha(Kanika Tiwari) and calls out for her sale in public to one who bids the most.Vijay is notified of this by Kancha and he flees back to Mumbai and kills Lala after which he gets closer to his family who had exiled him since the day he had joined Lala’s group after killing inspector aid of Kancha when he was 12 years old.In the meantime,Kancha sends a man (the same person who had set Vijay’s house on fire in Mandwa 15 years ago and was the real rapist of the student) to keep an eye on Vijay and as he finds Vijay to be considerate towards commissioner and is asked to assassinate the commissioner.This man while trying to assassinate the commissioner is murdered by Vijay in Ganesh Visarjan event. Vijay’s mother Suhasini sees the news of this in the paper saying she knew this person as a Mandwa citizen and goes to the police; identifying her and Vijay as citizens of Mandwa. A mole in the police informs Kancha of this. The commissioner later warns Vijay to be careful as Kancha posed him a threat.Vijay then marries his love interest Kaali (Priyanka Chopra)who is killed right after their marriage during a shooting spree by Kancha’s men.

Vijay leaves for Mandwa to avenge the death of his father and his wife by killing Kancha and on the other hand,Kancha gets hold of Vijay’s mother and sister and brings them to Mandwa.During the final showdown,Vijay bearing a couple of initial stabbings from Kancha garners energy by reciting the poem “Agneepath”, which his father had previously told him would give him strength. Vijay, reciting the poem, kills Kancha by hanging him from the same banyan tree to which his father was hanged to. Finally, Vijay succumbs to his injuries and breaths his last in the lap of his mother, while seeing a vision of his childhood.

Production

Development

In an interview with The Times Of India, Karan Johar explained that he had the intention of remaking the original Agneepath ever since the film released 22 years, because according to him, the commercial failure of the film broke his father’s heart. The idea of the remake materialized on the sets of Johar’s film My Name Is Khan in which Karan Malhotra was an associate director. Johar told Malhotra his desire to remake the original film and asked him to revisit it again for which he agreed immediately.^[6]

According to the art director Sabu Cyril, Mandwa and Diu, the villages where the events of the film take place were chosen because they were completely isolated from the urban areas. A big haveli like structure with tantric paintings on the walls, resembling an old fort built by the Portuguese (who had historically occupied Diu) was created as the den of film’s main antagonist Kancha Cheena which was later recreated in Mumbai to shoot the song Chikni Chameli. Vijay’s (main protagonist) shelter, a small sack-like thing on the terrace in a chawl was built on some open ground with a hundred houses.^[7]

Casting and filming

Debutant director Karan Malhotra and Karan Johar approached Hrithik Roshan in 2010 instead of the more obvious choice of Abhishek Bachchan^[8] as Vijay Deenanath Chauhan. He agreed to the play the role even before he finished hearing the script.^[9] Actress Genelia D’Souza was originally considered to play the female lead but the part eventually went to Priyanka Chopra.^[10][3][5] Sanjay Dutt was signed on to play the character of Kancha, the main antagonist.^[2] The award winning character of Krishnan Iyer M.A. originally played by Mithun Chakraborty was totally done away with and rather a completely new negative character of Rauf Lala was introduced and to be played by actor Rishi Kapoor.^[4] Other members of the cast include Om Puri & Zarina Wahab. Actress Katrina Kaif was approached to do an item number for the film, which she eventually agreed.^[11]

Filming started in January 2011. The entire film was shot in Diu with a few scenes shot in a mill in Mumbai. Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt both undertook a strict exercise regime to gain muscle for the film. On October 18 it was reported that Hrithik Roshan had injured himself during shooting and thus the shooting was delayed by 15 days.

Marketing

The first look of Hrithik Roshan’s character was revealed on July 5, 2011. Producer Karan Johar posted a link on Twitter to Agneepaths Facebook page, which contained an image of Hrithik as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. The Dharma Productions team planted the first theatrical trailer of the film with the prints of Bodyguard, which released on August 29, 2011 and the second theatrical trailer was circulated with the prints of Don 2 which released on December 23, 2011.

Soundtrack

All the songs are composed by the duo Ajay-Atul while lyrics are penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.^[12] The song “Chikni Chameli” is a remake of the Marathi song “Kombdi Palali” composed by Ajay-Atul for the Marathi movie Jatra, the song features Katrina Kaif, Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt.^[13]

Reception

The music of Agneepath got rave reviews from some of the top reviewers of Tinsel Town. Joginder Tuteja gave 4.5 stars, quoting” Chikni Chameli would be a good enough reason to set up brisk sales for the album. “.^[14] Sukanya Verma of Rediff gave the album 3 out of 5 stars and said that the film’s music was “promising”.^[15] “After a couple of false starts earlier this year, Ajay Atul have truly arrived in Bollywood with Agneepath”, said Music Aloud which rated it 8.5/10. ^[16]

Critical reception

The movie opened to positive reviews from critics. According to review aggregator Review Gang, professional critics have given the film a rating of 7 out of 10.^[17] Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film a score of 4.5 out of 5, and said “Agneepath is an uncomplicated story of revenge, is hard-hitting yet entertaining, dwells on strong emotions and aggressive and forceful action, yet is dissimilar from the original. … It is a fitting tribute to the masterwork. The movie has all the potential to scale dizzy heights of victory and catapult Hrithik Roshan as the newest member of the 100 cr Club, besides providing the Hindi film industry with the first giant Blockbuster of 2012. A definite winner!”.^[18] Subhash K.Jha of IANS gave it 4 out of 5 stars, pointing “Every component of the film falls into place, with a resounding thump. Agneepath is brilliant in its brutality. It’s a riveting and hectic homage to the spirit of the cinema when revenge reigned supreme. And content was King. This new Agneepath takes us back to the era when there was no computer or cellphones. And communication with the audience was immediate and electrifying.”^[19] Kaveree Bamzai of India Today rated the movie 4 out of 5, noting “Melodramatic, choir-inducing sentiment, ecstatic.Agneepath is that rare mainstream movie written well.”^[20] Aniruddha Guha of DNA gave the film 3.5 out of 5, reviewing “An adaptation rather than a remake, the film assumes a life of its own once the central plot has been established… the film then charts a journey of his own.”^[21] Piyali Dasgupta of NDTV gave it 3.5 out of 5, stating “Watch this film because this one is unadulterated Bollywood entertainment.”^[22] Daily Bhaskar gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, adding “On the whole, Agneepath totally rests on star power which will lure the cine-goers to halls but how far will it impress them remains to be seen.”^[23] Sukanya Varma of Rediff gave it 3 out of 5, commenting “Agneepath, less of a remake, more of a tribute. The makers of Agneepath should have just called it Dharmapath.”^[24] Mansha Rastogi of Nowrunning gave the movie 3 out of 5 stars, wrote that “Much against some flaws, Agneepath deserves to be lauded for performances and should be encouraged for a very convincing remake to a cult classic.”^[25] Mayank Shekhar of Hindustan Times gave the movie 3 out of 5 stars remarking “This is the kind of genuine theatre experience, now getting rare, which remains most precious in the life of a film-goer. Reason can take over later. I had a ball!”^[26] Sonia Chopra of Sify gave it 3 out of 5, mentioning “Debut director Karan Malhotra shows great promise in making the film visually arresting and maintaining the consistency of performances. But remaking a cult film means you have big shoes to fill. If you’re a loyalist of the Late Mukul Anand’s Agneepath, you’re likely to have reservations with this one. But if you leave the comparisons aside and are willing to forgive the faults, Agneepath is worth a watch essentially to savor Hrithik’s performance.”^[27] Rajeev Masand of IBN Live gave the Agneepath 3 out of 5, said “It is in the end, an old-fashioned revenge drama treated in that melodramatic, over-the-top style. You’re not likely to be bored by the intense action and the solid performances, but prepare to be exhausted by just how long this film plays on.” ^[28]

Box Office

Agneepath collected Rs 21.75 crore on the opening day, breaking the record of the first day collection of Salman Khan’s Bodyguard. The film also set new circuit records in Mumbai, CP Berar, Nizam, and Mysore.^[29] However, the film witnessed an unprecedented fall on its second day, dropping by almost 50%, and collected 11 crore (US$2.2 million) nett.^[30] The film managed to recover a bit on Saturday and netted around 12.50 crore (US$2.5 million).^[31] Agneepath recovered even more on Sunday and grossed 62.7 crore (US$12.54 million) nett over its extended four day weekend.^[32]

Morning show host Maya Khan fired from Samaa TV

LAHORE: (tribune) After an intense online campaign, television channel Samaa TV has fired morning show host Maya Khan and her team, and has said that her show will be taken off the air.
The decision comes after a controversial episode of the morning show, where Khan was seen conducting a ‘raid’ on a public park in Karachi and questioning couples about whether their parents were aware of their whereabouts and going as far as asking them about their marital status.
Maya Khan was at first reluctant talking about the decision, but later confirmed that her show had indeed been cancelled.
The morning show host blamed “a vicious media campaign by rival groups” for the outcome of the fiasco. She said that those campaigning against her had wanted her to be removed and this is exactly what had happened.
Khan stressed on the fact that no one had highlighted the “good things” she had done on her show.
Speaking to The Express Tribune, she confirmed the authenticity of the letter (below) by senior Samaa TV management and her termination from the channel.
Independent sources from Samaa have also confirmed that Maya Khan has been fired along with the production team of the show.
The letter, which was reportedly sent out by the management, states that Khan had refused to apologise ‘unconditionally’. It also adds that official termination notices will be sent to her on Monday morning.

Maya Khan Fired: successful  social media impact  in Pakistan

Apparently, firing Maya Khan, the head of the vigil-aunty brigade, along with her entire team is foremost success of the social media in the country.
A few days back, television viewers in Pakistan saw Maya Khan with a moral brigade, comprising elite class aunties, raided a park in Karachi to chase dating couples.
Although it was not the first time people watched doing her something strange, it was the last episode proved to be the last straw for many others flagship morning shows.
Dating someone without a legal relationship is considered down upon in the Pakistani society and some girls have lost their lives by their family members due to this specific cause.
Maya Khan, the desperate for top rating, has shown to be chased after couples as the show was on-aired live. It budged most of the country and immediately social media users became active and bloggers started targeted Maya Khan and her channel.Some of the social media activist termed her ‘chief of the moral police’ while a few compared her vigilantism to the ‘Lal Masjid mindset’.
Additionally, some Facebookers commenced uploading Maya Khan’s private snaps in which she was seen dancing with male friends, hugging. A series of questions and mocks were also carried out with these pictures, asking her to explain what she was doing with these people.
It seems that she wanted to boost the rating of her show by creating a new controversy but the water didn’t flow in a desired direction. A group of citizens started an online petition, urging upon Samaa TV’s management to instantly terminate her show.
People also started sending e-mails to Zafar Siddiqui, asking him to take notice of the issues and off-airing the show at the earliest. Ultimately, Maya Khan was fired from the TV channel after she refused to make an unconditional apology.A famous BBC journalist commented, “If you have a mike and a camera in Pakistan, you are assistants to God on earth and can do whatever you like.” Not only journalist but owners and management of the TV channels sometimes also create controversies to get higher ratings.

However, the social media for the first time in Pakistan succeeded by compelling a private TV channel to close a notorious morning show off-air. Many critics believe that social media will assist the traditional media in forming a code of ethics in the near future.

جگجیت سنگھ کو جدید غزل گائیکی کا ایک تابندہ ستارا اس لیے بھی گردانا جاتا ہے، کیوں کہ وہ پہلے بھارتی گلوکار تھے، جنہوں نے 1970 اور 1980 کی دہائی میں غزل گائیکی میں مشرقی آلات موسیقی کے ساتھ ساتھ مغربی سازوں کے استعمال کا آغاز بھی کیا۔

برصغیر میں غزل گائیکی کی مقبولیت کا اندازہ اس بات سے بھی لگایا جاسکتا ہے کہ بھارتی اور پاکستانی فلموں میں بھی غزلوں کو شامل کیا گیا۔ جگجیت سنگھ نے بھی بالی وڈ کے لیے متعدد غزلیں گائیں، جنہیں بہت شہرت ملی۔ جگجیت سنگھ کی پہچان بنانے میں سن 1981 میں فلم پریم گیت اور اس کے بعد فلم ارتھ میں ان کے گیتوں نے بہت اہم کردار ادا کیا۔

سن 1941ء میں پنجاب میں پیدا ہونے والے جگجیت سنگھ بلند فشار خون یا ہائی بلڈ پریشر کے مریض تھے اور ڈاکٹروں کے مطابق ان کی دماغ کی رگ پھٹنے کی وجہ بھی یہی بیماری بنی۔ سن 1998 میں انہیں دل کا دورہ بھی پڑ ا تھا اور اس کے بعد انہوں نے سگریٹ نوشی ترک کر دی تھی۔

جس شام جگجیت سنگھ کو ہسپتال منتقل کیا گیا اس روز وہ اور غزل گائیکی کے پاکستانی لیجنڈ غلام علی ایک ساتھ ایک محفل میں اپنے فن کا مظاہرہ کرنے والے تھے۔ یہ موسیقی کی تقریب وسطی ممبئی کے ضلع موٹنگا کے مشہور شان مکھنڈ ہال میں رکھی گئی تھی، جسے جگجیت سنگھ کی علالت کے باعث منسوخ کر دیا گیا۔

مشہور گلوکار جگجیت سنگھ غزل گائیکی میں اپنی پرسوز آواز کا استعمال بہت عمدگی سے کرتے رہے ہیں۔ وہ غزل کو سادہ انداز میں متانت کے ساتھ گانے کا چلن رکھتے تھے لیکن پچھلی ایک دہائی سے وہ محافل موسیقی میں راگداری اور لےکاری کا بھی استعمال غیر معمولی انداز میں کرنے لگے تھے۔ اس کے ساتھ ساتھ وہ غزل کے لیے موزوں راگ کے شدھ سروں کے اتار چڑھاؤ یا ’’برتاوے’’کو بھی اب اپنی گائیکی کا حصہ بنانے لگے تھے۔

جگجیت سنگھ کو سن 2003 میں اعلیٰ بھارتی تمغے پدم بھوشن سے نوازا  گیا تھا۔ وہ گلوکاری کے علاوہ میوزک کمپوزر اور ڈائریکٹر بھی تھے۔ وہ اردو اور پنجابی کے علاوہ کچھ اور بھارتی زبانوں میں بھی گائیکی میں مہارت رکھتے ہیں۔ ان کی واحد اولاد ان کے بیٹے ویوک سنگھ تھے، جو 90 کی دہائی کے اوائل میں ایک حادثے میں ہلاک ہو گئے تھے.

عدیل بیگ - آسٹریلوی فاسٹ باولر بریٹ لی نے کرکٹ کے علاوہ موسیقی میں بھی اپنی صلاحیتوں کے جوہر دکھانے شروع کر دیے۔ بریٹ لی بھارت میں بچوں کو موسیقی کی تربیت دیں گے۔بھارتی شہر ممبئی میں فاسٹ باؤلر پریس کانفرنس کرتے ہوئے اپنے منصوبے سے آگاہ کیا کہ وہ بھارت کے پسماندہ علاقوں میں رہنے والے بچوں کو موسیقی کے گر سکھائیں گے۔ موسیقی کی تربیت دینے کیلئے انہوں نے اپنی میوزک فاؤنڈیشن اور انٹرنیشنل میوزک چینل کی مدد حاصل کی ہے۔ بریٹ لی کا کہنا ہے کہ وہ میوزک کے ذریعے غریب بچوں کے دلوں میں گھر بنانا چاہتے ہیں ۔ بریٹ لی آسٹریلیا میں کرکٹر کیساتھ ٹاپ گٹارسٹ کے نام سے بھی مقبولیت رکھتے ہیں۔ پریس کانفرنس کے بعد فاسٹ باؤلر نے بچوں کیساتھ مل کر گانا گایا۔

 

سوئٹزرلینڈ کے شہر بازل میں اس ہفتے ہونے والی آرٹ نمائش میں بلین ڈالر مالیت کے فن پاروں کی نمائش کی جائے گی۔

آرٹ بازل نامی یہ نمائش دنیا کی مؤقر ترین نمائشوں میں سے ایک ہے جہاں جدید اور عہدِ حاضر کے نایاب فن پاروں کی نمائش کی جاتی ہے۔ اس نمائش کا افتتاح آج بدھ کے روز سوئٹزرلینڈ کے شہر بازل میں ہوا۔ اس نمائش میں تین سو گیلریاں آرٹ کے فن پاروں کی نمائش کر رہی ہیں جن کی مالیت ایک اندازے کے مطابق پونے دو بلین ڈالر ہے۔

نمائش کے منتظمین کو امید ہے کہ اس برس نمائش میں بڑی تعداد میں لوگ آئیں گے اور اچھی خاصی تعداد میں فن پارے خریدے جائیں گے۔ سن دو ہزار نو میں اس حوالے سے صورتِ حال کچھ اچھی نہ تھی تاہم منتظمین کا خیال ہے کہ لوگ اس وقت کو فراموش کر چکے ہیں۔

اس نمائش میں تین سو گیلریاں آرٹ کے فن پاروں کی نمائش کر رہی ہیں جن کی مالیت ایک اندازے کے مطابق پونے دو بلین ڈالر ہے

بازل میں یہ نمائش انیس جون کو اختتام پذیر ہو جائے گی۔ لندن میں بھی اس نوعیت کی ایک نمائش کا آغاز ہوگیا ہے جہاں اس بات کا زیادہ اچھے طریقے سے تعین ہو گا کہ لوگوں کی قوت خرید اس برس بہتر ہوئی ہے یا مزید خراب۔

لندن کی نمائش میں سو کے قریب فن پاروں کو امیر ترین کلیکٹرز اور سرمایہ کاروں کے لیے رکھا گیا ہے۔ ان فن پاروں میں مائکل اینجلو اور پکاسو جیسے مصوّروں کی تصاویر بھی رکھی گئی ہیں۔

منتظمین کو یہ بھی امید ہے کہ اس برس مغربی فن پاروں میں چینی سرمایہ کار اور کلیکٹرز بھی دلچسپی لیں گے۔ ماہرین کے مطابق حالیہ چند برسوں میں چینی شہریوں کی مغربی آرٹ میں دلچسپی میں اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ تاہم ماہرین کا یہ بھی کہنا ہے کہ اس حوالے سے بہت زیادہ پر امید ہونے کی بھی ضرورت نہیں ہے۔

جمیل فخری کا فنی سفر چالیس سے زائد سالوں پر محیط ہے 

پاکستان کے نامور اداکار جمیل فخری کو سپرد خاک کردیا گیا۔ وہ جمعرات کو لاہور کے ایک مقامی اسپتال میں انتقال کر گئے تھے۔

انہیں چند روز قبل فالج کے حملے کے بعد ہسپتال داخل کرایا گیا تھا تاہم وہ جانبر نہ ہو سکے۔

سڑسٹھ سالہ جمیل فخری کی تدفین لاہور کے قبرستان میں ان کے اس بیٹے کے پہلو میں کی گئی جو چند ماہ قبل امریکہ میں قتل کر دیےگئے تھے۔

نامہ نگار مناء رانا کے مطابق پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن کی سیریز ’اندھیرا اجالا‘ کے ’انسپکٹر جعفر حسین‘ کے کردار سے شہرت پانے والے جمیل فخری نے ستر کی دہائی میں اداکاری کا آغاز کیا۔

انہیں اطہر شاہ خان نے ’اندر آنا منع ہے‘ نامی سٹیج ڈرامے میں متعارف کرایا جس کے بعد سٹیج اور پھر ٹی وی پر انہوں نے متعدد ڈراموں میں اپنی اداکاری کے جوہر دکھائے تاہم ’اندھیرا اجالا‘ کا کردار ان کی اصل پہچان بنا۔

پاکستان ٹیلی ویژن کی سیریز ’اندھیرا اجالا‘ میں جمیل فخری نے پنجاب پولیس کے تھانیدار کی صحیح معنوں میں عکاسی کی جس سے ناصرف ان کی فنی صلاحیتیں بھر پور انداز میں نظر آئیں بلکہ وہ ناظرین جن کا اصل زندگی میں کسی تھانیدار سے ملنے کا اتفاق نہیں ہوا انہیں تھانہ کلچر کی حقیقی تصویر دکھائی۔

جمیل فخری نے بڑی سکرین پر بھی اداکاری کی اور تیس سے زائد پاکستانی فلموں میں کام کیا۔ فلموں میں اگرچہ ان کے کردار مرکزی نہیں ہوتے تھے تاہم انہوں نے جو بھی کردار ادا کیے وہ اپنا گہرا تاثر چھوڑ جاتے۔

انہوں نے اگرچہ سٹیج پر بھی کافی کام کیا لیکن وہ گزشتہ دہائی میں سٹیج کے بدلتے ہوئے رحجان اور اس میں استعمال ہونے والی نازیبا زبان اور غیر اخلاقی حرکات سے مطابقت پیدا نہ کر سکے جس کی وجہ سے سٹیج پر ان کا کام سنجیدہ نوعیت کے ڈراموں تک محدود ہو گیا۔

جمیل فخری کا فنی سفر چالیس سے زائد سالوں پر محیط ہے۔ ان کی زندگی کے آخری ڈرامے آج کل ٹی وی پر دکھائے جا رہے ہیں جن میں پنجابی سیریل ’دل دے بوہے‘ شامل ہے۔

جمیل فخری ذیابیطس اور بلڈ پریشر کے مریض تھے لیکن چند ماہ قبل امریکہ میں اپنے بڑے بیٹے کی ہلاکت کے بعد وہ کافی پریشان اور خاموش رہتے تھے
